The VFS-HA Heat Alarm is BSI Kitemark certified under KM 715769 and complies with BS 5446-2:2003, providing independent assurance that the alarm has been assessed against the relevant British Standard for fire detection and alarm devices for dwellings. The recognised BSI Kitemark gives installers, contractors and homeowners added confidence in the alarm's quality, safety and performance.

Designed to form part of a complete domestic fire protection system, the VFS-HA is particularly suited to areas where smoke, steam, fumes or moisture could cause nuisance activations from a conventional smoke alarm. This makes it ideal for kitchens, boiler rooms, laundry/utility rooms and garages. The alarm uses heat detection rather than smoke detection, responding to temperatures within its specified 54°C–65°C activation range, and is intended to complement appropriately positioned smoke alarms elsewhere in the property.

The VFS-HA is 220–240V AC mains powered with a replaceable 9V battery backup, helping maintain protection if mains power is interrupted. It produces a powerful >85dB(A) alarm at 3 metres and includes an approximately 8-minute silence function. The unit mounts onto a separate wiring base for straightforward installation and supports wired interconnection, allowing compatible alarms throughout the property to sound together when an interconnected alarm is activated.
