The VFS-WPA/10 Photoelectric Smoke Alarm is BSI Kitemark certified under KM 694336 and complies with EN 14604:2005/AC:2008, the recognised standard for smoke alarm devices. The unit also carries UKCA and CE markings, providing further assurance that it has been manufactured and assessed against the applicable product requirements. The independent BSI Kitemark gives installers, contractors and homeowners added confidence in the alarm’s quality, safety and performance.

Designed for residential fire protection, the VFS-WPA/10 uses photoelectric sensing technology and is particularly sensitive to the visible smoke particles associated with slow, smouldering fires, such as those involving sofas, bedding and other soft furnishings. Recommended locations include hallways, landings, bedrooms and principal living spaces, with alarms installed on each storey as part of an appropriately designed fire detection system. The manual also states that this model is suitable for use in leisure accommodation vehicles (LAVs).

The VFS-WPA/10 is powered by a built-in, non-replaceable 3V CR17450 lithium battery and delivers a powerful >85dB(A) audible alarm at 3 metres, together with an approximately 8-minute silence function. Its major advantage is built-in wireless interconnection, allowing up to 40 compatible VFS wireless alarms to be linked without interconnect wiring. Once paired, activation of one alarm causes the other interconnected alarms to sound, providing coordinated warning throughout the property.
